Inspired by the UI/UX working experience at Opel, I started this research-based design project which served as my master degree project in Germany. The goal was to seek tangible motion design guidance as opposed to the motion design insufficiency and ambiguity in automotive HMI .

12 novel motion principles introduced by Issara were used in this project. An eye tracker was also used for the data collection during user test. The mechanism of visual attention was discussed and its relationship with the 12 novel motion principles were found. Three motion rankings revealing the strength towards different attentional sub-processed were used in this Electric Vehicle’s HMI design project.
